The fields are white unto Harvest

"The harvest truly is plentiful, but the labourers are few" Matthew 9:37. There has never before been such a great opportunity to reap the harvest of souls, as there is in this current age. The fields are truly white with the ripe souls to be harvested, and yet there are insufficient willing laborers to be able to reap the harvest. The harvest that is not reaped by the laborers will become over-ripe or mildew and rot will set in and then the harvest will be ruined. We need laborers to reap the harvest of souls.

Mark 16:15 is your contract of employment with the Lord, which sets out your job description in the work that he has planned for you. "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature". The contract continues to define the working standards in some detail in verse 17, "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." 

Jesus needs you to be a laborer for the harvest. If you have taken Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, then you are bonded in love to Him and you have become a slave to Him. He now requires that you be obedient to Him and that you begin the harvest of souls.

Where is the harvest. Look around you, wherever you are, can you not see the harvest? The harvest is in the children at the childrens hospital, it is in the poor that are struggling to survive, it is in the downcast and downtrodden, it is in the teenager drug addicts, it is in the alcoholic, and even in the rich businessman whose marriage needs saving.

Allow the Lord Jesus to direct you, and be obedient to Him, and he will show the harvest to you, and you will reap where you have not sown.You will become Fishers of Men. Perhaps He will not require of you to bear the reaping tool, but maybe he will require some of you to be in the support function, supporting minstries like this that are actively seeking the harvest. Perhaps you will become the one of the best reapers, if you would only just obey His voice and go out into the harvest field and begin to reap.

We all carry a responsibility to the Lord for the harvest, and we are responsible and will be accountable for any of the harvest that does not get reaped and falls subject to mildew and rot. Whatever the purpose that you have been called to, I pray that you would take that up and begin to act, for the fields are ripe unto harvest.
