Making yourself available for God.
Years ago in the old apartheid era of South Africa, I made a living selling soap powder. The soap powder was fairly much in demand everywhere, but I found a great market selling it in the Black Townships at the places where the elderly people received their monthly pensions.
These sales were my favourite cause I found the elderly black people to be some of the nicest people on the earth. The pension payouts used to take place at the local community halls, and many vendors would be outside the halls in order that the pensioners could do their shopping once they received their money.
At one particular township, I noticed that the pensioners coming out always seemed a lot happier than anywhere else. There was also always a lot of noise eminating from the hall where the pensioners waited for their turn to receive their money.
Curious, one day I went to the entrance of the hall and peeped in to see what all the noise was. I was surprised to see a Black lady on the stage with bible in hand, preaching to these pensioners with such power, might and passion, that even though I could not understand a single word, I could sense the heavy prescence of the holy spirit.
This particular pension payout carried on for six days in a row every month. Needless to say I peeped into the hall daily just to witness and feel some of the power.
On the early morning of the sixth day, during my quiet time with the Lord, he said to me that he wanted me to preach there as well. I instantly dismissed it as being my flesh. That day when I peeped into the hall again, God again said to me that he wanted me to minister there. I said to the Lord, OK , if you want me to do it then you make it happen.
At that precise instant, the lady on the stage stopped preaching mid sentence, turned and looked at me and asked me to please come say something on the stage. I went and this was the first of many, many preaching, teaching and miracle sessions that I experienced with this wonderfull lady. Together we saw thousands come to know the Lord and we saw thousands get healed from all types of ailments.
We saw crutches thrown away, Blind eyes opened, lame limbs healed, all through the power of Jesus.
Be obedient to the word of God and be open to what he wants to do and you will marvel at what happens.
This ministering carried on for about 18 months, and we were able to replicate it to many other pension payouts in other townships. One day God again ministerd to me and told me to stop preaching in the halls. On arriving at the payouts as usual to sell, the old people would come to me and fight with me to go inside and preach. I said ” See God, they need me” and went inside and carried on preaching.
I was disobedient to what God told me to do. At the first day of the next month’s payout, I was called in to the office of the organizer of the pension payout. Guess what? They banned me from preaching inside the hall as they felt it caused too much disruption.
I was disobedient to God and he closed the door forever.
In all things heed what God tells you to do.
