How to save your marriage from destruction.

Marriages and relationships are under attack from the Devil.
Why does he attack them?
The devil does not want you to have peace and harmony in your lives. It is his job to ensure that you have a tormented lifestyle and that you do not partake of anything sacred. Marriage is Sacred and so he will always try to attack it in order to rob, steal and destroy.What if Jesus said the same about his relationship with you? What if Jesus said that He does not know if this will ever work. Maybe it is better that he just divorces you now and let's you go off to hell. That would not be so great, would it?

In dealing with marriage problems, there are always two sides to the story. Each partner always thinks that they are right and that the other half is wrong. In order for you to start to save your marriage, it is crucial that you get your half of the marriage in order."But seek thee first the kindom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you". You must first seek the kingdom. (not your partner)
Matthew 7:3 "And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye". You must first look at yourself before you look at your partner.

How to win back your partner.
What has changed so much that you have fallen out of love? Is it maybe that you have become hard and no longer show your loving feelings. Have you become too busy in other area's that your partner no longer feels love and is retalliating by not showing love back in return. Have you become less tolerant of their faults. Remember that we all have faults and we married that person with their faults.What you confess with your mouth and believe with your heart will come to pass.During one of my trips to China, I had the misfortune of having lunch with a chinese guy in the lunch party who could only say a couple of english words. His words were " My wife, She big Bitch". Well guess what fellow, you said it and so it will be. Of course that guy got a good blasting from me through the interpreter.Love your partner the same way as Jesus loves you. How many times have you fallen short of Jesus. How many times have you hurt Jesus deeply by what you have done. How many times have you been disrespectful of Jesus. Yet through all that, He still loves you far more than you can imagine.. Do Not Nag !Remove self seeking from your marriage. What is in it for me? Nothing. When you are in a relationship seeking nothing but to serve your partner, you will get everything back in return. When you choose to serve Jesus with all your heart, He in return gives you eternal life in heaven.

I find that most counselling that I have done, has been in the area of marriages and relationships. Marriages everywhere are under attack and are falling apart. Wherever you go, you hear about this person getting divorced and trouble in this marriage or that so and so is having an affair. Today I have come to help you in your marriage and to help you get your marriage back together.

First, I often hear the question "Is my relationship worth trying to hold onto?"

YES,YES,YES. Let me ask you the same question in reverse.

Your relationship is worth saving. You will have to do some work to save it. When you came to Jesus, you chose to love him and to follow and serve Him. The same applies with your relationship. When you married your partner, you chose to love and serve them.  What has happened? Did you change your mind?

Matthew 6:33

When was the last time that you told your partner that you love them without any extra but's or other conditions said at the same time. When was the last time that you set aside some quality time with just you and your partner together. 

When was the last time that you said " I have the best partner". When last did you praise your partner either to yourself or to someone else. When you start to praise your partner, something magical happens and your words start to become true. Speak life into your marriage instead of constantly speaking death over it. Start to believe that your marriage will work and that it will become a marriage of the type that your friends all dream of.

All those things that you are holding against your partner, all the hurts that you have, first forgive them of them, and then take the hurts to Jesus and give them to Him. That is why one of the reasons that He died on the cross for us, so that he could take away our hurts and heal them. While we hold onto them they start to fester and unless treated by Jesus, they will become gangorene to our souls.

Pray for your partner. No, do not pray that God will convict them of all they have done wrong. Pray that God will help them to see and respond to the change in you. Pray that God will help you to touch your partner through totally unselfish love. Pray that God will enable you to offer the right cheek, as well, when the left one has just been slapped. Pray that God gives you the strength to endure. Pray that God helps you to stop any form of retaliation.

How often has Jesus called upon you to do something for him and you just ignored it. Did Jesus come back to you and compain or constantly be on your back to do what he told you. No. So be it with your partners. Get off their backs. Wait patiently and without criticism

Apply the above principles in your relationship and soon you will have a marriage made in heaven. Put away the past, give it to Jesus and forget about it. Do not look back. Move forward into marital bliss.
