The power of the spoken word is more than we as mere mortal beings can comprehend. Due to the vast power that is carried by what we speak, it is of utmost importance that we start to learn just how powerful the spoken word is and to start to concentrate on making positive confessions.
James 3:4 “Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires.” In this scripture James refers to the tongue as being like a rudder of a ship. Such a small thing that can turn a guide a large ship, through the fiercest storms, into either safety or into destruction. The tongue is able to take us into safety through the use of positive confessions, or into destruction through the use of bad confessions. James carries on in verse 5 to describe how a small little fire can destry a huge forest. The tongue, used incorrectly is capable of huge destruction.
The power of positive confession.
We are created in the image of God. As such we are very similar to God. In the beginning, God created the earth. And God Said “Let there be light, and there was light.” God did nothing more than to speak things into existence. Being created in the image of God, we have to realise that what we speak has power and we are capable of speaking things into existence, both positive and negative.
What you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart, shall come to pass. Romans 10:9 ”That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved”. Jesus often teaches us the power that is in the spoken word . In matthew 17:20″ If you have faith as a mustard seed (Believe in your mind) You will say to this mountain (the spoken word) Move from hear to there and it will move (will come to pass).”
In further general examples of the power of the spoken word, Jesus often said to the people “Your sins are forgiven” and they were. There was no cleansing rituals or anything else, just the spoken word. Jesus used the power of His word to calm the seas when the disciples were afraid. He simply spoke to the wind. Jesus commanded demons to leave through speaking to them. Jesus commanded sickness to leave just by the spoken word.
What we speak carries the same power and we have to learn to turn the spoken word into a positive confession . We we are able to make a positive confession, which we believe in our hearts, then it happens in the spiritual realm, and then manifests (Shows) itself in the physical realm. Speak posistive about your companies future, refusing to take heed of the negative, and seeing and believing in the positive, and soon your company soon will be positive.
Speak only good about your spouse. So many people are so quick to look at their spouses negative side and to continually confess the negative about their spouse and what happens is that the negative begins to become stronger in that spouse due to your confessions. Rather speak positive about your spouse and soon the positive will grow stronger in your spouse and the negatives will automatically fall away due to your positive confessions.
Positive confessions are a key to healing. The devil often uses the same power of the spoken word to place sickness upon us. Sickness in our physical bodies is often the result of a bad confession by us. “Oh my Dad had high blood pressure so I will probably have high blood pressure.” This statement has just given you high blood pressure! A positive confession would be “Even though my worldy dad had high blood pressure, I now have that blood of Jesus running through my veins and the blood of Jesus is nothing else but perfect, so I will not suffer from High blood pressure.” Positive confession.
Speak only positive confessions into your life and into the lives of those who are around you. Further to that , believe in the power of those positive confesssions, knowing that whatever you believe and confess will come to pass. Avoid the temptation to enter into a negative confession or to feed on anything negative. Feeding on negativity will result in the world around becoming negative and leads to depression. Feeding on the positive and making positive confessions, results in a positive outlook to life and prosperity and blessings being spoken into place.
Above all, remember to confess Jesus as lord and saviour of your life.
