Jesus. Jesus and you!

All about Love.

Jesus is all about love and our relationship with Jesus is all about love. Jesus paid the ultimate price for the love that He has for us in dying on the cross. What does Jesus expect back from us in return for the love that he showed to us.

Jesus expects us to love Him back and if we love Him, then we are to keep His commandments - not out of duty , but out of love. John 14:21 "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him."  The person that has the commandments of Jesus is the person who reads the bible and receives a deposit of the word into his soul. The person that keeps His commandments is the one who loves Jesus, for if you love Him and have a relationship with Him, you will want to please Him and obey Him. What person who loves their husband or wife dearly, does not want to please their husband or wife. Jesus is much more than a husband or wife to us and if you have accepted Him as Lord and Saviour in your life, then you do love Him and will want to keep His commandments.

When you love Jesus, the Father in heaven changes his heart to you and the Father Himself falls in love with you, and then Jesus manifests Himself (Shows)  to you. Verse 23 says "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make our home with Him."  What can be better than knowing that both Jesus and the Father have a home with you.

The key to having a life filled with God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, is the love relationship that you have with the Son, Jesus. If you have accepted Jesus into your life, you have begun a love relationship with Him. If you love Him, then you will want to keep His commandments and will do your best to please Him. When you keep the commandments of Jesus and love Him, then the hand of the Father is turned and the Father will love you and the Father and Jesus will come and make their home with you through the Holy Spirit.

Love Jesus with all of your heart and all of your mind, and He will come to you and show Himself to you, and once Jesus shows Himself to you, your life will be changed permanently.

Abide in Me.

John15:7 "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you."

John15:9 "As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in my love."

John15:10 "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments  and abide in His love."

John 15:12 "This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you."

The word "abide", used in the context above, means "To live in" and "Continue to be sure or firm." When we come before Jesus, we are to abide in him. This means that we have to start to live in Him, and continue to to be sure and firm in Him. You have to start placing Jesus as the root and foundation in your life. You have to place your feet firmly within Him, and then you know that He is the foundation in your life, the one that you can continue in and be sure of.

When you have an old house that is busy falling down, and you wish to rebuild it. First, you demolish the old house, then remove the old foundations. Once this is done, you cast new solid foundations and start to build your new house. If the foundations of the old house are weak, and you try to place new brickwork on the old foundations, the brickwork will continually crack and fall.

When we come to Jesus, we declare that our old house was starting to fall to pieces, we then demolish the old house through getting baptised in water, and in the submersion in water, we cast a new foundation and rise up out of the water with a new foundation cast solidly in Jesus. We then start to build our new house on that solid foundation of Jesus. When you try to build a new life, but fail to go through baptism in water, you often fail because you have not renewed your foundation.

"And my words abide in you". You have to get the word to live inside of you, and that is through reading the bible and depositing the written word of God into your spirit. That is the only way for the word to abide in you.

Once you have become firmly founded in Jesus, and His word has become firmly entrenched with in you, then whatever you ask, will be done for you, for automatically whatever you ask for will be in line with the word of God and will be to the glory of God, for its is in Jesus that you abide and love, and your will has become His will.

Jesus said that as the Father has loved Him, so He also loves us, and we are then to be founded and sure in His love. You are to be secure, knowing that He does love you.

When you abide in Jesus, you will become a person full of love, for just as Jesus had that perfect love for others, Jesus has become your root and foundation. The root feeds the tree and branches, and therefore Jesus feeds you with love, which in turn shines through you to all around you. You also will want to keep His commandments, and His greatest commandment is that we love one another, as He has loved us.

In summary, you have to build your house on the foundation of Christ. Destroy your old house, be baptised in water, and become sure in the knowledge that you abide in Him, and His words abide in you, and that He loves you.

Read The Bible for Power in Your Life.

My message to you today is to read the bible, daily, twice daily or even more. Read the bible out loud and let all around you hear the word that proceeds from the bible, that power may come into your life, and that you may be blessed through the word.

Reading the bible is sadly not well encouraged anymore. Most people have never read the bible through from cover to cover. Most people read the bible less than once a month, with a high majority of people that never read the bible at all. Jesus says in John 15:7 that we are to abide in Him. Many people are under the misconception that if they go to church on Sunday, they receive enough of the word to carry them through, after all is that not what they are paying the pastor, or preacher for when they drop their small change into the offering basket. By giving those couple of cents on Sunday, they are expecting that the pastor will first read the bible for them, and then pray for them the whole week through.

Sorry but it does not work like that. have you ever wondered why some people in a particular church, will fly through every situation and always seem to prosper, even in hard and difficult times, whilst others from that very same church, who attend just as often, seem to always be falling and suffering. What is the difference.  When we become Christians we start to build the house of the Lord into our lives.

Having spent some time in the building trade where I was building blocks of flats in an area known to have difficult soil conditions, I became very familiar with the whole concept of foundations.

In the building industry, there are many different types of foundations that can be used. The foundations range from being cheap and easy, to becoming very complicated and expensive. Cheap and easy are used where there is solid ground underneath and the expensive are used in sandy and clay conditions wher the soil is subject to compaction and movement. If you use cheap foundations in sandy and clay conditions, the building will start to crack up and will eventually be condemned as not being fit for habitation. Many builders, in order to make a quick buck, still use the cheap, quick and easy foundations in bad soil conditions.

Jesus said that we are to build our houses upon the rock. Rock is the most solid of all foundations. A house built on rock will never fall. It will never crack and will always be fit for habitation.

What is the rock in our lives that we are to build our house upon? The rock in our lives is Jesus, but the way to get the Rock into our lives is through reading the word of God and depositing the word of God into our lives through reading the bible. Everytime that you read the bible, you are busy creating more rock in your life, upon which to build your house.

I spoke above about the two christians from the same church, where one succeeds and the other fails. The difference between these two is that the successful one, reads his bible daily and continuosly is adding to and strengthening  the foundation in his life, whilst the other seldom reads the bible, and so has built his house on sandy ground, and the minute rain comes down, the house falls. The house is not fit for habitation and is condemned.

The devil hates you reading the bible, because he knows that the more of the word that goes into you, the less chance he ever has of causing your house to fall. Read the bible. Read it out aloud as this makes the devil angry as he can not stand hearing the word. When the word is continuosly read out aloud, he flees from before it and will leave you and your whole house alone. Demons leave in the prescence of the spoken word. Speak that word out constantly, that there may be peace in your home.

Reading godly books written by pastors and spiritual people is great. They are often a lot easier to read than the bible, but they do not replace  reading the bible. Those books will help you to get understanding and motivation, but they do not build the rock. The rock comes only from reading the bible. Read the bible as much as you can. Before you read, Pray that God will open your eyes and give you the understanding of the word. Even if you do not fully understand the word that you are reading, continue to read because it is building your foundation.

God Bless

Something to put a smile on your face today, probably modern day proverbs.

Abide in Him

If My Words Abide in You.

John 15:7  "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you".

Powerful scripture with powerful words that many seem to ignore or miss in their persuit of a better life through Christ Jesus.

"If you abide in Me". Romans 6:4 says "Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life". When we are baptized, we are baptized into the death and resurrection of Christ and automatically live in Christ, and Christ, through the holy spirit, lives in us. See Baptize in water.

"And my Words abide in you". Uh Oh! Do the words of the Father live in you. What are the words. Some may argue that the word is the Holy Spirit that lives within us, but then the scripture quoted would say, "and my word", but the scripture uses the plural of words and so I do not think that this scripture refers to the Holy Spirit that is inside of you, but as to how much of the word of God is implanted within you through the reading and studying of  His words contained in the bible. How much do you read the instruction booklet to life that God has given you? That is what the bible is. It is Gods instruction booklet to guide you into and through life. If you do not have the knowledge of His words within you, how can you ever have success?

In order to fully realise the potential and power of God in your life, you need to fully understand how God operates, what will cause success and what will cause failure. If you buy a brand new complicated machine, which of you turns the new machine on without first checking the instructions. Failure to check the instructions could result in the machine malfunctioning and the guarantee becoming null and void. Failure to check Gods instruction can result in your life malfunctioning and your guarantee from God for success, becoming null and void.

Imagine an extreme example . "God you promised that I would have eternal life, so why am I being cast into the eternal flames?" God answers "Did you not read my instruction book. on page ... it said....  ! Your guarantee is null and void because you did not follow the instructions!"

Now I am not saying that you will be cast into the pit if you do not read your bible. What I am saying though is that if Gods word does not abide in you, that you are missing out on so many of the advanced features of the machine of life.

"You will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you." - Advanced feature. Yesterday I went shopping with my wife to buy her a much needed jersey for the South African winter. After searching the entire mall, we could only find one jersey which was suitable, but the price tag was higher than what we budgeted. There was no sale and being only the beginning of winter, there was little hope of a winter item being on sale. However, as I came to the till, I said silently to God, "Let this be on sale." Sure enough as they scanned the bar code, the price that came up on the computer was far less than the price marked. The saleslady looked bewildered and immediately wanted to call the manager. All I said to her is to not worry as it is on sale. God is great. He even controls the tills and computers of the retail malls!

If My word abides in you, whatever you desire shall be done for you. Read the word and implant the words of God into your soul, that you may fully benefit from the advanced feature's of living in Christ.

God Bless
