"Who is he that overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God", 1 John 5:5 .
Jesus died on the cross and on the third day He rose, victorious and truimphant. Thereafter He ascended up to heaven to rule at the right hand of the Father. Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father until this day and continues to rule triumphantly. Jesus is able to rule due to the fact that during the three days of "Death", He was not "Dead" but was rather securing the victory over the enemy, defeating death and destruction caused by sin, and securing the "contract" that allows you and me to choose Jesus as our Lord and Saviour and achieve eternal life through His blood that was shed for us and through his bruising (Isiaiah 53:5).
At the time that we choose to leave a life of sin and accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, we then are confessing that Jesus is the Son of God. Through the acceptance of Jesus into our lives and by becoming bonded to Him in Love, we are given the power to overcome the world and are made more than conquerors, through the power in the name of Jesus.
Peter was asked by Jesus in Matthew 16:15 "But who do you say that I am?" . The reply that proceeded from Peter in verse 16 is the most powerfull confession that we can ever make in our lives - "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
When you confess Jesus in your life and when you confess out loudly that He is the Son of the Living God, then the demons begin to tremble and flee from before you, sickness leaves and the whole world around you starts to change from the power of Jesus that begins to exude from you in that simple statement of faith.
Overcoming the world is simple, Confess that Jesus is Lord of all, that He is lord of your life, and that He is the Son of the living God and that the Son of the Living God has chosen to live in you through His Holy Spirit. When you confess these things, they start to become a reality in your life and the power that is in these statements begins to form in your life. Then the demons, principalities and powers, see the power of the love of Jesus shining through you and they can not bear the light in you and they have to flee. You have overcome the world through the power of Jesus that lives inside of you, because you recognise and confess that Jesus is the Son of the Living God.
You Have the Power in the name of Jesus Christ.
There is so much power and might that has been given to us who believe, through the name of Jesus, and yet few ever bother to take up the power and use it in order to change the circumstances around us. We have the power in the name of Jesus Christ so begin to realise it and take the authority to change your life and the world around you.
In order to take up the power of the name of Jesus in your life, there are a few facts that have to become revelation within your spirit, and you may have to get rid of a few self sabotaging beliefs.
What does Jesus really mean to you? How do you see Him in your life? Yes, Jesus saved you, Jesus loves you, Jesus died on the cross for you, but is this all in your head, or have you had the deep down revelation of this in your spirit.
When Jesus asked Peter who he thought that Jesus was, Peter replied with the words, "You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God". When I asked above who Jesus is to you, unless you had these very same words screaming out of you from the depths of your inner being, it is possible that Jesus has never become a full revelation in your life. He is the Christ. He is the Son of the living God. Read this Great teaching on the Christ.
Does Jesus Really love you?
We all have sung the great little hymn in church at some stage of our lives, " Jesus loves me, yes He does, For the bible tells me so." How do you know that Jesus loves you? Is it just because the bible tells you and it has become a recital, or is it from the same deep down revelation that you had above, similar to "He is the Christ". We can be told many times that Jesus loves us, and we can read it many times in the bible, but until it becomes that deep down realisation and revelation, we do not walk in the fullness of His love.
When we love our partners, often there is a hesitation about whether our partner really loves us as well. Do they really love me? What are they not telling me? There is often a constant doubt and mistrusting which is of course sowed by the devil. Even though you do not want to doubt and even though you want to believe, there is often that little shroud of doubt which prevents you from entering the fullness of your love for each other.
When it comes to your relationship with Jesus, this is often the case as well and this is also fuelled by the devil. How can Jesus love me, I am unworthy of Him. Does He really love me? You need to come to the deep down revelation that Jesus really does love you, far more than you can imagine. You are worthy of His love, else He would never have died for you. Jesus has not only forgiven you of all of your sins, but has already totally forgotten about them, and when the Father asks Jesus to tell Him about you, the eyes of Jesus light up with pride and He says, "He/She is just perfect!"
The use of the name and authority of Jesus.
We receive the revelation of who we are in Christ through reading and hearing the word of God. We receive faith through the reading and hearing of the word of God. The more we read His word, the more it becomes reality to us.
When the lovely young lady first gets married to her well respected and powerful husband, she does everything with caution and is unsure and unfamiliar with her new position as Mrs Respected and Powerful. The husband is a powerful man and is well respected and so automatically the wife gains some recognition wherever she goes. However she does not carry the same authority as her husband. As time goes by, the wife realises just how powerful and well respected her husband is, and now wherever she goes, she introduces herself as Mrs Powerfull and Respected, and she now, wherever she goes, demands the same respect that would have been given to her as if her husband was standing next to her.
When we give our lives to Jesus, we become the bride. We change our names and take on the name of Jesus. Jesus is the most powerful and respected name ever. Wherever you are, you will be able to use the same power and authority through your marriage to Jesus, as if He were standing right next to you. Jesus says to you in John14:12 that the same as he did and greater you will do because you believe. Believing in the word of God and believeing that you have all the power and authority through Christ Jesus is what makes the difference. Verse 13 says "and whatever you ask in My Name". You are the Bride of Jesus and whatever you ask in His name will be done for you. Just Believe.
Taking the full authority in the name of Jesus.
You now have the revelation within you that Jesus is the Christ. He is the Son of the Living God. He really does love you and you are His Bride and are called by His name. You have been given the authority to use His name and whatever you ask for in His name will be done for you. Asking comes through prayer and spending time in His prescence. The more that you are in His presence through quiet time, the deeper the revelation of the above will become in your life and the more of His authority you will take up.
Jesus has given you the authority to use. Take it, believe it and start to change the world around you through it. Do not be the young bride who does not mention that she is married to Mr Respected and Powerful. Tell the world around you that you are of the name of Jesus. Take the authority.
