Faith

Have Faith In the Lord your God.

Mark 11:22 to 26

So Jesus answered and said to them "Have faith in God"

"For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea', and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things will come to pass, he will have whatever he says.

Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you will receive them, and you will have them.

And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.

But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses."

This is powerful scripture that leads us right into the full power and annointing of the Lord Jesus Christ. The scripture above shows us the two key elements to moving in total faith and power. The first is that we have to believe and the second is the area of forgiveness. I have dealt with forgiveness in another teaching which can be read here. This link opens in a new window so you can click on it, read it and return to this teaching on faith.

What is Faith?

Faith can be described as "Believing in something that you have not yet seen." A typical example of daily faith is that we believe that there is a God, but yet we have not yet seen Him. When we fly on an airoplane, how many of you actually go to the cockpit to check that there really is a pilot on the airoplane. No, we have faith that there is really a pilot up there and we also have faith that he has checked that there is enough fuel in the airoplane for us to reach the destination.

So should our faith be in God. We need to believe that He is the Heavenly Father. We need to believe that He has great things planned for us and that He loves us more than we can ever realise. We need to believe that He is far greater than our earthly father's could ever be.

If we look at our own earthly fathers, and those that are parents already will be able to visualize this to a far greater degree. When you have children, you want the best for your child. If there is anything that your child really wants or needs, you will do all in your power to get it and give it to your child as long as you know that it will be good for your child. If any obstacle comes in the way of your child, you are quick to remove it that your child can continue unhampered and if anyone seeks to harm your child, woe to them.

If that is how we are as earthly parents, how much more is the Father in heaven towards us. If we go before Him, and we pray to Him with that child like, persistent faith, then how can we even believe for one second that God will not do it for us. God, as our heavenly Father who loves us dearly, will do all in His power to give you what you want, and as God is all powerful and nothing is impossible for God, you will get what you have asked for in faith.

Jesus talks about the mountain that we should cast into the sea. The mountain is figurative for any problem that stands in our way. When we have a problem before us, we are to move in total faith against the mountain, pray, and the mountain will be moved from before us. God will remove the obstacle from your way if you do not have doubt in your heart.

When a child asks you for an ice- cream, they are already feeling the cold dripping of that ice cream over their hands. they can already taste that ice cream in their mouths. They have total faith that you are going to give them that ice cream! So we are to be with God. Total Faith. We need to already be able to feel and taste the ice cream that He is going to give us. God says that we should come to Him as little children. This is not that we should revert back to child like ways, but that we have to revert back to child like faith in Him.

God Bless
