Calling of God Irrevocable
God issues a calling on your life for you to fulfill. Along with the calling on your life, God grants you the necessary gifts to enable you to fulfill the calling that He has placed upon you. God is the same today, yesterday and tomorrow, and therefore the calling that God places upon your life does not change and is therefore irrevocable.
Romans 11:29 "For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable". The dictionary defines irrevocable as being impossible to retract or revoke. In other words, once the calling and the gifts have been placed upon your life, it is impossible for it to be changed or removed.
What calling is there that can be placed upon your life? In previous teachings we have learned that we do not choose to come to God and accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour in our lives, although we possibly want to believe that it is us that make the decision, but we are in fact chosen by God first, and he places a calling upon our lives. The calling is that calling in which He invites us into His kingdom and to serve Him.
The calling that God places upon each person may differ, for the calling is seldom just for you to accept Jesus into your life as Lord and Saviour, but is mostly a part of a greater plan and purpose that God has for your life. God issues a further calling that may be for you to be a full time worker in the local church, a world wide evangelist, a person called to business and financial supporting of others etc. This is part of the gifts that God installs into your life at the time of your calling.
Now please do not ask me to find out what your specific calling is, for that will be revealed to you by God and God only. What I will tell you though, is since God has issued a calling on your life, and since God has already placed inside of you the gifts and talents needed to fulfill that calling, that calling on your life and the gifts within you, can not be withdrawn.
God has given to each of us a free will. We have the ability to make decisions and we can therefore choose to obey God or disobey god. What will happen if we do not obey the calling that God has placed upon our lives? "I mean, I know God has called me to serve Him, but I am still young and want to go out and have fun with my friends". Firstly the fun that you will have with your friends will not provide any satisfaction and you will derive no lasting pleasure from it. The fun and pleasure that God will place into your life will far exceed that which the world can give to you, but this you will only learn and believe once you give way to God and obey Him.
Secondly, God is not a respecter of person, but rather has a function that needs to be performed and that function can only be perormed by you. That is why God gave the calling to you and not to someone else. If you choose to ignore the calling, then God will allow you to constantly fall into situations, until such time as you then realise and choose to accept Jesus into your life as lord and saviour.
If god has placed a calling upon your life, then know that God has a purpose for you to fulfill. Do not attempt to fight against God and to Fight against the calling that He has placed upon your life, but rather accept the calling and the gifts, that all may be well with you and that your life may prosper. When you are obedient to the calling of God, He will pour out His blessings upon you and the blessings will be so great that you will not be able to contain them.
If you have been resisting the call of God that you know has been placed upon your life, then step out and accept Jesus into your life, that God's calling in your life may be fulfilled.
