Build on the Rock

Build your House on the Rock Of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 7 : 24 to 25

"Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock"

"And the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock."

We Christians, are so often misled and under false misconceptions. We are often told that when we come and accept Jesus as Lord and saviour, that everything will be great and we will have no further problems. Yet in the parable above, Jesus clearly shows us that it is not the case.

Expect Tribulations and Trials.

Jesus shows us that once we are founded on the Rock, that we will experience the floods, the winds will beat up against us, and the rain will come. However, because you have a firm foundation through the Rock of Jesus Christ, you will be strong enmough to withstand all the elements that will come against you.

In this teaching, Jesus also shows us how to withstand the onslaughts and attcks that you will receive as a christian. It does not say that we are to build big barriers around us to protect us from the winds, and large covers to protect us from the rain. The scripture shows that we merely have to have our feet firmly placed in the Rock, and then we are to stand. Do not run - Stand!

Galtions 5:1 says "Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free."  Ephesians 6:14 "Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness."

You have been called into God's ways. Place your feet firmly into the word of Jesus Christ and then stand. When storms come up against you, stand. When people persecute you, stand. When times are tough, just stand. All those around you may be washed away by the flood, and the winds will destroy many walls and rip off the roofs of many houses, but because you are built into the rock of Jesus Christ, no harm will come upon you.

God Bless
