Jesus is all about love and our relationship with Jesus is all about love. Jesus paid the ultimate price for the love that He has for us in dying on the cross. What does Jesus expect back from us in return for the love that he showed to us.
Jesus expects us to love Him back and if we love Him, then we are to keep His commandments – not out of duty , but out of love. John 14:21 “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” The person that has the commandments of Jesus is the person who reads the bible and receives a deposit of the word into his soul. The person that keeps His commandments is the one who loves Jesus, for if you love Him and have a relationship with Him, you will want to please Him and obey Him. What person who loves their husband or wife dearly, does not want to please their husband or wife. Jesus is much more than a husband or wife to us and if you have accepted Him as Lord and Saviour in your life, then you do love Him and will want to keep His commandments.
When you love Jesus, the Father in heaven changes his heart to you and the Father Himself falls in love with you, and then Jesus manifests Himself (Shows) to you. Verse 23 says “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make our home with Him.” What can be better than knowing that both Jesus and the Father have a home with you.
The key to having a life filled with God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, is the love relationship that you have with the Son, Jesus. If you have accepted Jesus into your life, you have begun a love relationship with Him. If you love Him, then you will want to keep His commandments and will do your best to please Him. When you keep the commandments of Jesus and love Him, then the hand of the Father is turned and the Father will love you and the Father and Jesus will come and make their home with you through the Holy Spirit.
Love Jesus with all of your heart and all of your mind, and He will come to you and show Himself to you, and once Jesus shows Himself to you, your life will be changed permanently.
